Pollen Proliferation
Made for the #Spring2DJam
Hey this is an unfinished game made for the Spring 2D Jam, where you must collect pollen seeds before they hit the ground and turn into bad bad flowers >:(
The green seeds and falling flowers heal you and increase your score, but if you let the seeds fall down and grow, they'll turn into flowers and shoot at you (that's how flowers work)
There is an increase in difficulty after 45s
You can cycle though your blower's modes to either blow bad pollen away, or create a vacuum and attract seeds to you. A third mode allows you to take off by pointing at the ground and clicking.
Controls :
- WASD to move, space to jump
- 1, 2, 3 to change your blower's mode or right-click to cycle through
Did not really have time to finish my idea, but still implemented the main mechanic (blowing stuff away with physics and the vacuum thing) so I'm still happy bout that :)
You can see that the UI art is very different from the enemies and player art, I originally wanted to go with a hand-draw art style but didn't have enough time to do every asset.
In the end I wish I'd gone a different direction, I like the concept of the tool with multiple modes, and interacting with enemies and pickups through physics and stuff, but I had to package it into something very simple because of time constraints.
